Woman Dies After Car Forced Off St. Petersburg Road
The woman's death occurred following a Tuesday morning crash on 16th Avenue South.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Tuesday morning crash that left a 40-year-old woman dead.
According to the agency, April Morrow of St. Petersburg was a passenger in a Nissan Murano driven by her sister Tina Morrow, 37. The vehicle was traveling on 16th Avenue South around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday when police say the Murano “was forced off of the roadway and into a telephone pole by another vehicle.”
April Morrow died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bayfront Health from injuries sustained in the crash, the police department wrote in an email to media. Tina Morrow, was also hurt in the crash, but her injuries are not considered life threatening.

The second vehicle involved in the crash, police say, fled the scene.
“Just before the crash, at least one person from each vehicle was involved in a brawl at the Obama Express (convenience store), 1400 18th Avenue South,” the email noted.

Detectives have found what they believe is the second vehicle involved in the crash and are following leads.
No further information is being released at this time.
