ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for help locating a 41-year-old woman wanted in an attempted murder case.
According to the agency, Misty Childs and her boyfriend, Lavont Moss, 46, got into an argument just after midnight Sunday in their 13th Avenue South home. When the verbal dispute ended, police say, Moss went to bed.
Childs, police say, wasn’t quite finished with the dispute.

“Childs, who had been preparing a boiling pot of soup, took the hot liquid and poured it onto Moss' face and upper torso as he was lying in bed,” an email from police said.
After allegedly dumping the soup, Childs left the home and hasn’t been seen since, police said. Moss was taken to a local hospital for treatment of severe burns. Police say he was last listed in critical condition.
