Woman Shot in McDonald's Drive-Thru
Details are still emerging in the Wednesday afternoon incident in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in a McDonald’s drive-thru window.
According to the agency’s preliminary investigation, the incident at 4585 34th St. S. began to unfold when a bail bondsman’s team tried to pick up a wanted felon. An altercation broke out that resulted with a woman in a front passenger seat of a vehicle being shot.
Police say they do not believe the woman’s injuries are life-threatening. She has been taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It is unclear at this time if the woman was in a vehicle with the wanted man or was just a customer.

Police did say the suspect who was wanted is now in custody. He has been identified as Deveon Stokes, 26. His outstanding warrants, according to the police department, include possession of cocaine with intent to sell, failure to appear in court and driving on a suspended license.
