Worker's Fatal Fall Caused by Recoiling Hose, Investigators Say
The 52-year-old subcontractor was working at a city water treatment plant.

A sub-contractor fell 30 feet to his death in an empty water tank when a pressure hose he was holding recoiled, St. Petersburg authorities said.
Homero Levario Juarez, 52, was working for Spectrum Contracting at the Northwest Water Treatment Plant in St. Petersburg, when the fatal accident occurred. The plant is at 7500 26th Ave. North.
Juarez was using a pressurized liquid concrete hose to resurface the inside wall of a water tank, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
According to the Tampa Bay Times: The hose recoiled and knocked him to the concrete floor of the water tank, police said. Juarez was wearing a safety harness, but police said it was not secured to the basket.
The man died from “unsurvivable trauma,” authorities said.
