QYK's Dave McKay Found Dead at Home
BREAKING: St. Petersburg Police are investigating the 99.5 WQYK host's Thursday death.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the death of QYK radio personality Dave McKay.
McKay, whose real name is Steve Ehmke, was found dead in his St. Petersburg apartment on Second Street early Thursday morning, police wrote in an email to media. The discovery was made just after 6:30 a.m.
According to police, McKay, 55, didn’t show up for his shift on the "Dave and Veronica Show" Thursday morning. A co-worker who lives nearby checked on him and found him dead. McKay lived alone.

Police say there is no evidence of foul play, but the death remains under investigation.

Dave was one of the nicest people any of us have ever met and he was 100% the guy you heard on air for years.
