10 Tarpon Springs High Students Arrested After Brawl
The initial fight, Tarpon Springs Police say, involved four female students. Six male student then became involved.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL β Ten students from Tarpon Springs High School face charges following a Tuesday morning brawl on campus.
According to the Tarpon Springs Police Department, officers were called to the 1141 Gulf Road high school around 11:43 a.m. after a βlarge fight broke out.β The campus school resource officers were told about the brawl by school administration.
When the school resource officers reported to the Building 9 area where the fight broke out, they found βfighting happening in and aroundβ the building, an email from the police department said. The officers called for backup.

After the dust settled, officers on the sceneΒ learned the initial fight involved four girls. They were arguing about an event that occurred over the weekend in Palm Harbor, according to the email. Police did not divulge the nature of the incident that prompted the fight.
As the girls began to fight, βseveral other male students began to get involved,β the email said. βNone of the involved would listen to the repeated instructions of school staff or officers on scene, to stop their aggressive behavior.β

Since none of the 10 would listen, officers arrested all of them on disorderly conduct charges, the police department said. All 10 students are juveniles in grades nine through 11. Police said there were no serious injuries and no weapons were used in the brawl.
Officers stayed on the campus the rest of the day to ensure peace, the agency noted.
The names of the students involved are not being released.
