16-Year-Old Stabbed In Attempted Armed Robbery At Crossfit

A 16-year-old employee of Crossfit was stabbed in an apparent attempted armed robbery Friday, Oct. 19.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL -- A 16-year-old employee of Crossfit was stabbed in an apparent attempted armed robbery Friday, Oct. 19.

Tarpon Springs Police received a 911 call at 3:23 p.m. stating that an employee had been stabbed in the parking lot of Crossfit, 41522 U.S. 19 N.

The 16-year-old was in the parking lot next to the Crossfit truck when a man came up from behind, grabbed him by the shorts and began searching for items to steal. The victim turned toward robber and the robber stabbed him in the upper right chest area. The teen fell to the ground and the robber jumped into a beige SUV and drove away.

The teen was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening knife wound.

Police are now searching for the attempted robber, a man in his 20s.
