• Sexton Elementary School closure delayed by Pinellas County school board (wfla.com) — Pinellas school officials are weighing a plan to merge Sunset Hills Elementary and Tarpon Springs Middle into a single K-8 campus, while converting Tarpon Springs Elementary into a fundamental K-8 using the leftover Sunset building. The board delayed a decision on closing Sexton Elementary but expects to vote on the broader reconfiguration, including Tarpon Springs schools, next Tuesday after more community input.
   

• Icon Missing From Florida Church for Over a Century Makes Unexpected Reappearance in Greece (resistthemainstream.com) — Tarpon Springs residents may soon see a long-lost St. Nicholas icon return to their Greek Orthodox cathedral after Mayor John Koulianos tracked it down in a church on the Greek island of Aegina. Church leaders in Greece still must decide whether to release the painting, which originally came to Tarpon Springs in 1910 and was sent back for restoration after a 1923 fire.
