This is an event to put on your calendars for this weekend!
- Come join us for a day of fun & learning, as we dedicate "Casa Seranita" to her new status as Demonstration Garden and Learning Center! List of presenters is now forming--we plan to cover all petals of the Permaculture flower, so if you have something you'd like to talk about, message me! We are starting in the afternoon, to give you plenty of time to stop in at the Tarpon Springs Sunday Market on your way ;^)
Thus far:
ALL DAY: Bake Sale, periodic Intros to this project ('garden in-process tours')
1:00: Loretta (that's me!) will workshop on timebanking, alternative currencies and the paradigm shift; later on: upcycling, and other fun homesteading skills (because if it ain't fun, I'm not doing it!)
2 PM: Vicki Conrad will be sharing her critter skills with her assistant 'Brownie', and perhaps some comic relief from Jemma and her Chik'n Tales
2:30 Ara McLeod will enlighten us on aquaponics a'la Morningstar, and other stuff going on in the 866
3:00 Justin Marlin will be getting up close and personal with Worms,
4:00ish Andy Firk will be demonstrating his wildcrafting skills,
followed by the PLANT AND SEED SWAP and DRUM CIRCLE
Time slots in process:
Jacob the beekeeper will be buzzing about bees!!
Eric Stewart may just tell us about his new video project, as well as the ongoing success of Suncoast Co-op...
and the list goes on...
hopefully, the notorious DJ Prophet will grace us with a drum circle at sunset, and 'Doc Jemma' may give us a talk on nutrition and/or digestion...we have a long list of other potential special guests, so do stop by, it's going to be a hoot!
This is a Non-Monetary model, so we prefer that attendees are timebank members, and/or willing to exchange hours for information and education. ( Please visit TBT for info: www.tampabatime.org) However, if you prefer, we are also accepting donations of the following items:
Gardening tools (ie. rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, spades, etc.)
~ Items needed for the "Kinder Garden":
a small trampoline, bicycles and/or bicycle parts,
other small people-operated devices (such as rideable tonka trucks or train for moving dirt);
some flexible bamboo (or something similar) to create a kid's 'green house'
~ Artists (to design wall mural and garden art, perhaps give demonstrations)
~ Musicians (to entertain and help create the musical rain catchments)
~ Strong backs are always wanted & needed for labor! (see permablitz post--March 2nd is the date for this)
~ Creative minds for coming up with more fun stuff to add!
See blog for project details: www.WeGrowFromHere.wordpre ss.com
"Casa" has plenty of room for couch-surfing, possibly even some space for tents, but please let me know if you need accommodations so that we can plan space! The home is located off Klosterman Rd., which is the border between Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs, and we are taking applications for potential residents or those who might be interested in renting office or studio space as well! Are you a non-profit? Even better!!
The address is: 239 Timberlane Dr. Palm Harbor - very close to Klosterman.

I hope we can all support this amazing opportunity to learn about every phase of sustainability!!!
