Remembering September 11 Through Photography

I knew I wanted to document the way our neighborhoods showed their support along with the whole nation.

I was in the darkroom processing film for my photography class as the news came over the radio.Β  The instructor, along with some other students and I, watched in horror and disbelief on a TV in the library as our country was being attacked.Β

I'll never forget the impact that day had on me and how important photos reflect such an event. Only a few short months before, I had photographed the Twin Towers, which was one of the first images I had developed as a new photography student.Β

In memory of September 11th, I knew I wanted to document the way our neighborhoods showed their support along with the whole nation.

These are only a few of the images I had taken with a Nikon FM110 camera that I later scanned.Β  I feel it's important to share them and remind us how everyone came together on that day, along with the months that followed.
