Sustainable Tarpon Springs - December 21, 2012

We’d have to live on a different planet not to have heard speculation about the date, December 21, 2012, - either as a day to be fearfully hyped as the ‘end of the world’ or to be celebrated as a total breakthrough in consciousness.  I’m in the latter camp, believing in the essential good of the Universe, and sensing we have been gradually moving closer to a beautiful paradigm ‘shift’ for most of my life.  Not to get confessional about my age, but ever since ‘The Age of Aquarius’ (from the rock musical Hair) became part of the soundtrack of my life, I’ve been ready and waiting.  I am among those who eagerly anticipate and celebrate the positive changes humanity is capable of - even in the wake of one of our nation’s most horrendous tragedies.

Who do we want and choose to be?  No matter what happens - even if nothing appears to happen - I am among those who believe in the power our minds and choices have to shape our world.  I’m happy to say, I can’t even comprehend why any of us choose Darkness over Light, but perhaps all ‘opposites’, being part of the same spherical continuum, will eventually come together - and then Light, illuminating Darkness, will finally extinguish it.  I’m holding that thought as we enter this week of December 21st.  

I think this is an exciting time to be alive!  And as a lover of ‘sustainability’, I am ever hopeful to be moving in the direction of our highest destiny.  As more and more people come alive, awake, and aware of our interconnectedness, there is a positive ‘cascade effect’ upon our ‘reality’.  Fear is not a productive or sustainable ‘framework of Being’, so we can choose to step out of the paradigm that limits who we are and the good we are capable of achieving together.  If this resonates with you, keep the most beautiful picture of reality in your mind this week - knowing December 22 will be sunny and beautiful, like nearly every other Florida day, but perhaps with a new feeling of lightness and ease.

The best advice I have for my ‘friends of sustainability’ this week (and always) is to turn off your TV, turn off your radio.  Be PRESENT to the Universe speaking inside of your own heart.  If you have negative attitudes or thoughts, you can observe those things without acting upon them.  Liberation is knowing ‘thoughts’ are not who we are.   And if we are, indeed, ‘what we eat’ - the same holds true for what we feed our minds.  If all you listen to, see, or read, is negative - guess what?  We all know how the most sensationalized news sells advertising - so don’t buy into it.  You do have power over what you choose to feed your mind and soul.  It is high time to tune into the good news we hear.  Believe in the good, cling to it, and know this:  manifestation will follow what we acknowledge as true!  

In chatting with a friend yesterday at the Tarpon Sunday Market, we realized one of the most wonderful, simple words in our language is YES!  Think about the power of affirmation!  There has never been a time when affirmation is so needed to move in the direction of our Highest Good.  So, if you have no other mantra for 2012 - use this one, and see what can happen.  YES!!!  It is sustainable!
