A Clearwater man was arrested and charged in the shooting ofΒ two homeless men in Tarpon Springs last month and is believed to be a person of interest in the death of a homeless man whose body was found at an abandoned gas station on Gulf to Bay Boulevard this week.

Myron Farley, 32,Β was arrested andΒ charged withΒ first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murderΒ in the Aug. 5Β shootings of Brian Kennedy and Larry Schuff, Rob Shaw, Clearwater Police spokesman, said in a release.

Farley was taken into custody by Clearwater Police aboutΒ 9:20 a.m. Friday
during a traffic stop at U.S. 19 and State Road 590, Shaw said.

Kennedy was killed andΒ Schuff remains hospitalized in serious condition, Shaw said.

Clearwater and Tarpon Springs police departments startedΒ working together on Sept. 16 when Clearwater Police found the body of a homeless man at an abandoned gas station atΒ 1840 Gulf to Bay Blvd.

Forensics workers fromΒ the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office noticed similarities in the death ofΒ JohnΒ Austin Lloyd and the Tarpon Springs shooting case, Shaw said.

Clearwater detectives are continuing toΒ investigate Farley as a person of
interest in the Lloyd case.

This is not Farley's only run in with authorities.

He was arrested and charged with strong armed robbery Aug. 15 in Tarpon Springs. In that incident, FarleyΒ is accused of putting a man he knew for a decade in a chokehold and stole $10 from him.
