Collision On Pinellas Avenue Injures Deputy
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a major accident in which a deputy sustained injuries.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a major accident in which a deputy sustained injuries.
The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the intersection of Pinellas Avenue and East Curlew Place, Tarpon Springs.
According to investigators from the Pinellas Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team, Deputy Natalie William, 48, was responding to an emergency call in her marked Pinellas County Sheriff's Office 2016 Chevy Tahoe. While driving south on Pinellas Avenue in Tarpon Springs with her emergency equipment activated, she attempted to pass several cars at the intersection of Pinellas Avenue (Alternate 19) and East Curlew.

According to investigators, 72-year-old Treasure Lee Love of El Cajon, California, was driving her 2014 Honda Civic south on Pinellas Avenue in front of Williams when she attempted to turn east onto East Curlew just as Williams was preparing to the pass her, and the two cars collided.
Williams was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Love refused medical treatment at the scene.
Investigators say it does not appear that speed or any impairment were factors in the crash.
