Deputies: Couple Staged Burglary, Killed Parents' Dog

The Dunedin couple had their child along when the Tarpon Springs crime was committed, deputies say.

A 4-year-old Labrador retriever named Daisy is dead and her owners’ son and his girlfriend now face a host of charges in relation to the crime.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Adams, 34, and Lauren Curran, 28, went to Adams’ parents’ home in Tarpon Springs on Monday with the intention of killing the dog. The pair, an email to media from the sheriff’s office stated, had their child along for the ride and stole an iPad while there were there to make it look like someone had broken into the home and killed the dog in the process.

Alan and Laura Adams reported the burglary of their home to deputies around 8:19 p.m. Monday.
