Explosion Reported in Tarpon Springs

An explosion at MagneGas Corporation in Tarpon Springs has left one person dead and another injured.

According to the Tarpon Springs Police Department, the agency received a call about the incident at 150 Rainville Road around 1:56 p.m. Thursday. Police say one person has been airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries and another was found dead at the scene.

The explosion appears to be related to an industrial accident, the department wrote in an email to media. Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue has advised that the scene is secure.

No further details are being released at this time.
