Double Shooting Victims Identified

One of the men has died and the other is listed in critical condition at a local hospital following an Aug. 5 shooting in Tarpon Springs.

Tarpon Springs Police have identified the two men they say were shot near Florida Capital Bank on Tarpon Avenue Aug. 5.

Brian C. Kennedy, 56, died from his injuries. Larry J. Schuff, 54, is in critical condition following the events that unfolded Monday afternoon, according to an email from the city’s police department.

Both men are described as homeless by police. Authorities were able to contact family about Kennedy, but were unable to find a next of kin for Schuff.

The shooting happened around 2:35 p.m. Monday near Florida Capital Bank. The suspect in the case remains at large. Police have not released a detailed description of the shooter.
