A few weeks back my wife and I played host to some long-time college friends from Michigan. They, like most others who discover Tarpon Springs for the first time, were immediately impressed with the cultural and historic elements that make our time unique and interesting.
We paraded our friends throughout our city limits and made sure they were able to treat all of their senses while we walked, talked, dined and discovered.
After they left, Patty and I agreed we need to make an effort to treat ourselves more often - instead of waiting for our "tourist" friends and family to arrive before we paint the town. We're planning on a date night in the near future.
Think about it, why wait for others to rediscover your favorite town; why not bike out to the trail, lock up and seek some interesting little corners of our world we have never seen.
Try it and I'll bet when you play tourist in Tarpon, you might just see your favorite town from a new and exciting perspective.
See you around ...
