Man Critically Injured In Tarpon Springs Shooting
Tarpon Springs Police say the shooting happened late Tuesday night near Lime Street.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL β The Tarpon Springs Police Department is investigating a Tuesday night shooting that has left a Palm Harbor man in critical condition.
According to the agency, an officer was on patrol in a marked cruiser just before midnight. As he approached the area of Lime and Walton, he heard approximately three gunshots, an email from the police department said. The officer believed the shots came from an area a few blocks west of his location.
When the officer made it to the area of Lime Street and Grosse Avenue, he was flagged down by a resident who also heard the shots and was in the process of calling police.

The woman pointed the officer to an open field across from 322 E. Lime St. and told the officer there was someone on the ground in the field. The officer ultimately found a man in his early 20s suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The man was airlifted to Bayfront Health, police said.
While police are not releasing the victim's identity at this time, they have said he is from Palm Harbor.

βThe victim was not able to provide any information regarding the shooting due to his injuries,β the email said. The man is currently listed in critical condition.
Police say there are no witnesses to the shooting and the motive is unknown at this time. Anyone with information about the case is asked to all the Tarpon Springs Police Department at 727-938-2849.
