'Most Wanted' Fugitive Arrested in Florida
Tarpon Springs resident was wanted in Massachusetts on an attempted murder charge in a May 2015 shooting.

A U.S. Marshals task force arrested a Tarpon Springs man on Massachusettsβ βMost Wanted Listβ on charges related to an alleged shooting in May.
William Benton, 22, faces charges on five warrants, including attempted murder.
Marshals were working leads that Benton had fled to Florida and was at a Tarpon Springs home. As the task force of federal and local agents approached the house Tuesday, Benton came outside and was taken into custody without incident.

Bentonβs record includes 42 prior charges, according to the U.S. Marshals Office. He is awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.
The task force included members of US Deputy Marshals, Tampa Police Officers, Hillsborough County Sheriffs, Pinellas County Sheriffs, St. Petersburg Police Officers, Sarasota County Sheriffs, and Polk County Sheriffs.
