The crash occurred on Monday, Sept. 24 at 6:28 a.m. near the intersection of Trinity Boulevard and East Lake Road in unincorporated Tarpon Springs.

Investigators say 31-year-old Anthony Watt of New Port Richey was behind the deputy in traffic driving his 2015 Porsche Macan. Watt did not see traffic stopping in front of him and crashed his Porsche into the rear-end of a 2001 Dodge Ram being driven by 32-year-old Brett Dowd of New Port Richey.

The crash caused a chain reaction pushing Dowd's Dodge truck into the rear of Wilson's cruiser.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Dowd to the Medical Center of Trinity for non-life-threatening injuries. Wilson and Watt were not injured.
