'Shotgun' Threat Prompted School Lockdown, Cops Say
Tarpon Springs Fundamental School was placed on a temporary lockdown Wednesday due to a nearby incident.

A 50-year-old man faces criminal charges after Tarpon Springs Police say he threatened a woman with what was believed to be a shotgun Wednesday morning.
The woman, Erionna Adams, 19, called police around 8:34 a.m. to report that a man had pulled a shotgun on her and went inside a home at 427 S. Disston Ave. Nearby Tarpon Springs Fundamental School was placed on lockdown as the incident unfolded, police wrote in an email to media.
When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter around the home and tried to contact the man inside by phone. The effort was unsuccessful, police wrote, so they tried to reach out using a PA system.

The man, it seems, listened to the PA address and came outside of the home without incident. Once officers were able to get inside the home, they found a BB gun rifle.
Police say Brian Everette is the boyfriend of Adamsβ grandmother. Adams and Everette got into a verbal spat Wednesday morning and Adams left the home. When she returned, Everette pointed the BB gun at her, the email said.

BB gun or not, Everette now faces aggravated assault charges. He was being booked into the Pinellas County Jail late Wednesday morning, police said.
