Tarpon Springs' Explosion Victims Identified
A Safety Harbor man was killed and a Largo man seriously injured.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department has released the names of the victims in Thursdayβs explosion at the MagneGas plant.
Michael D. Sheppard, 29, of Safety Harbor was killed in the blast that occurred just before 2 p.m. at the 150 Rainville Road facility.
Worker Eric R. Newell, 41, of Largo was injured. Newell was flown to Tampa General Hospital for treatment. Police say he is currently listed in stable condition.

An investigation into the blast continues. Authorities have not yet said what caused it.
MagneGas is a manufacturer that converts liquid wastes, such as sludge and sewage, into clean-burning fuel.
