Tarpon Springs Man Killed in Tampa Nightclub Shooting

A 23-year-old Tarpon Springs man is dead following a shooting outside a downtown Tampa nightclub early Thursday morning.

Tampa Police Department investigators say Terence Warren Wilson of 1506 Starlight Cove was leaving Club Underground, 802 E. Whiting St., heading toward a nearby parking lot when he was shot.

Police spokeswoman Janelle McGregor said a patrol officer was flagged down by a witness just before 2 a.m. When the officer went to the parking lot, he found Wilson dead, McGregor wrote in an email to media.

While the investigation remains in its preliminary phase, McGregor said detectives believe an incident inside the bar may have sparked the shooting.

Witnesses were still being interviewed.
