Teen Airlifted After Tarpon Springs Crash

The accident happened early Wednesday morning on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

An 18-year-old male has been hospitalized following a pedestrian-versus-car crash in Tarpon Springs early Wednesday morning.

According to the Tarpon Springs Police Department, the teen stepped off a raised median at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Walton Avenue into the path of an oncoming Mini Cooper.

The teen was airlifted to Bay Front Medical Center following the 8:42 a.m. crash. His condition and identity are not being released at the time.

The driver of the Mini Cooper, a 20-year-old man who is also not being identified, was uninjured, police wrote in an email to media.
