Teen Tarpon Springs Girl Manages To Scare Off Home Burglar

TARPON SPRINGS, FL -- Tarpon Spring Police are investigating a home burglary that occurred when a teen-age girl was home alone.

On Thursday, Nov. 29, at about 6 a.m. , a burglar broken into a home in the 1000 block of Windsor Hill Way.

A high school-age girl was in bed at the time and heard the front doorbell ring. She contacted a parent who had recently left for work and was told not to open the door.

A few minutes later, the teen heard someone inside the home. She then saw a man wearing a black hoodie, a face mask and carrying a flashlight. She shouted at the man and the man fled the home.

Police determined that the burglar entered the home through an unlocked rear door.
