The Race for Pinellas County Commissioner, District 4.

Over one year ago I announced that I was going to run for Pinellas County Commissioner, District 4.  Serving Oldsmar, Dunedin, Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor, parts of Safety Harbor and a small part of Clearwater.   The area referred to as North Pinellas County.
There are 2 ways to become a Candidate for County Commissioner, District 4.   One is to seek nearly 1,700 verified signatures from voters in the area and the other way is to pay over $5400.00 to officially become a candidate on the ballot.  May 19, 2014 was the last day to seek to run using Petition signatures.  I am proud to announce I have exceeded the required verified Petitions and I am still receiving Petition cards in the mail!  I turned in nearly 2,000 Petition Cards.   I am one of two candidates to qualify to run using the Petition method. Out of 12 announced candidates only 2 of us have qualified using Petitions.  The rest, have until mid June to qualify by paying $5,400.00 in order to be a candidate.  Most of the candidates (there are 12) did not seem to even make an attempt to qualify using Petitions.
I personally want to thank nearly 2,000 people who signed my petition cards.  It is an honor to have qualified using this method.
I also thank all of you that stated your concerns for the county and the overwhelming belief that our county commissioners should listen to the voters and taxpayers of North Pinellas County.
As a voter you should ask yourself and the other candidates why they are choosing to pay the $5,400.00 without attempting to save that money by getting petitions.  You can view all of the candidate financial reports and petition information  on the Pinellas County  Supervisor of Elections  website.  It shows how much money each candidate has in their campaign and where it comes from.  Then ask why does one candidate have over $80,000 in his campaign fund and why so many are willing to pay the $5,400. to run.
I am running a grassroots campaign and do not feel that just because someone has $80,000 in their campaign they should be the next county Commissioner to represent YOU.
I feel I am the "VOTER'S VOICE" and I will work hard to improve North Pinellas County.  To fulfill my promise to serve the voters, I stated early on in my campaign that when elected I will use a large portion of the salary to open a North Pinellas County office to help serve the residents better.  I ask you to ask the other candidates what they intend to do with the $90,000 salary.   Yes $90,000 salary.
Thank you again,
