Vehicle Shot At During Road Rage Incident In Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs police are investigating a road rage incident in which a driver fired four or five rounds from a handgun at another vehicle.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — Tarpon Springs police are investigating a road rage incident in which a driver fired four or five rounds from a handgun at another vehicle.

On Sunday between 2 and 2:15 p.m., a driver was headed north on U.S. 19 just north of Tarpon Avenue when another driver fired bullets at the vehicle. Bullets were recovered from the rear passenger area.

The victim said the shooting began in the area of East Lake and Keystone roads when the other driver "cut him off."

Both vehicles turned north onto U.S. 19 and the shots were fired shortly after as they approached Cypress Street.

The shooter is described as a black man, about 30 years old, heavyset with short hair and a clean-shaven face. He was driving a Cadillac CTS that was champagne or green, possibly a 2012 model, with a Mississippi tag.
