Update: Walmart Employee Discovers Body In Parked Van
Tarpon Springs Police discovered a dead body inside an older-model van Feb. 22.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL -- Tarpon Springs Police detectives have concluded that the body found in a van at the Walmart parking lot was a victim of suicide.
The body was transported to the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office in Largo, which will confirm cause of death. However, detectives say there are no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
An employee of the Walmart at 41232 U.S. 19 made the grisly discovery Thursday, Feb. 22, around 1:20 p.m. after noticing an unusual amount of insect activity inside a van and detected a foul odor coming from the van.

Tarpon Springs Police responded and discovered a dead body inside the van.
The employee told police that that it was the strong smell of decay coming from the van that prompted the call to police.

The older-model, white Ford E-150 van was parked at the north end of the parking lot adjacent to Tarpon Avenue.
