13 Things To Know About Temple Terrace Patch

Welcome to Temple Terrace Patch!
We’ve spent more than a month getting the site ready for launch, and now, we’d like to introduce you to all the features that Temple Terrace Patch offers.
We’re here because of you—we want to be the place Temple Terrace residents go to find out what’s happening in the community, so we’ve tailored the site just for you.

Temple Terrace Patch is going to strengthen the community, but we can’t do it without you. You have plenty of opportunities to comment on stories, share your opinions, post photos and announcements, add events to the calendar and submit story ideas.
1. Comment on a Story

News is a conversation, and we want you to join in the discussion. Much of our reporting will spring from what readers tell us in e-mails, comments on posts, and conversations around town. Share your thoughts and reactions to our stories by posting comments directly below each article.
2. Send a News Tip
At the bottom of the homepage, there’s a link that reads, “Send Us News Tips.” Tell us about stories we should cover. Your tip will be sent directly to , Temple Terrace Patch’s editor.
3. Post an Event
Do you know of an open mic night at a local bar, a fund-raiser for a non-profit or an art exhibition at a coffee shop? Is there a garage sale or graduation ceremony coming up? If it’s not on our Patch calendar, it should be. Feel free to add events to here.
4. Post an Announcement
Everyone deserves to brag every now and then. Post births, engagements and wedding announcements. Tell us who made the honor roll or share school awards, social notes and thank you shout outs. If you’re looking for volunteers or searching for your lost dog, we welcome you to call on your community for help. Just remember, our Terms of Service say announcements should be for personal use and not for advertising.
5. Blog on Our Site
Do you have an opinion? Of course you do! Share your voice by blogging on Temple Terrace Patch. Bloggers have their own “Local Voices” section on the site, and they can post as often as they like. Click here to apply for your own blog on Patch.
6. Engage in Social Media
You can “like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Immerse yourself in our content and actively contribute to status updates and tweets. Let’s start a conversation!
7. Sign Up for Newsletters
The daily Temple Terrace Patch newsletter brings you all the stories and announcements that have been posted in the last 24 hours. It is delivered to your e-mail daily at 6 a.m. You can also sign up for the weekly newsletter, which shows a subset of the content created and featured on our site over the last few days. It is delivered every Thursday at 10 a.m. Look for the Follow Us and Newsletter links in the right column of this and most every page.
8. Claim Your Directory Listing
Our business and organization listings aren’t skimpy. Our team of researchers actually hit the streets and visited businesses, restaurants, schools, parks, libraries and more so we can provide photos as well as detailed information, such as hours of operation and services provided. You can claim your listing and add information and photos. To reach us about the listing for your business or organization, e-mail us at directorysupport@patch.com.
9. Upload Your Photos and Videos
Did you catch a really great play at a high school football game or an impressive tumble during gymnastics? Post photos and videos from local events. We invite you to share with the rest of the community the memories you’ve caught on film—or more accurately, SD card!
10. Review Restaurants
Do you want to be the first to tell your friends whether the new restaurant in town gets a thumbs-up? You can post a review of your favorite (or not-so-favorite) restaurant here. Or, search to find what you’re craving—you can filter results by cuisine, price or seating accommodations.
11. Shout It Out!
You now have a way to shout out on the site without having to add a comment to an existing story. You can tell us what you have to say right now by using the new shout box at the top of the Activity Stream on the homepage. Whatever you shout will go directly into the stream, right on the homepage.
12. Ask a Question
Do you want to know when that pothole is going to get fixed? Are you an expert on native trees who can’t wait for someone to ask why their allergies are so bad this year? Patch’s Q&A section is the place for you to ask your questions and show off your expertise, all while connecting with your neighbors. Visit the Q&A page and ask a question, or answer someone else’s.
13. Send a Letter to the Editor
We might be an online community forum, but you can still express your thoughts or concerns about anything that might be stirring up conversation around town. Submit a letter to the editor via e-mail to ashley.reams@patch.com, and we’ll post it. Please limit letters to 300 words.
The more Temple Terrace Patch serves as an online space for community dialogue, the more useful our site will be. So next time you have something to share with your neighbors, consider taking a moment to do it through our site!
