2 Injured as Car Crashes into Daycare Center

Two women have been hospitalized following a Friday morning accident that ended with the vehicle they were in crashing into the Achievement Center for Early Learning.

The crash happened around 3:39 a.m. when the driver of a car heading westbound along East Busch Boulevard lost control, skidded across the median, crossed the eastbound lanes and smashed into the front of the 4609 E. Busch Blvd. daycare.

“The vehicle then struck the building, causing substantial damage to the front,” wrote Lt. J. Preyer of the Tampa Police Department in an email to media.

The driver and a passenger, both women, were taken to Tampa General Hospital as trauma alerts, Preyer said.
