Riverhills Elementary - Magnet School for International Studies approved for the 2013-2014 school year

Riverhills Elementary will join three other elementary schools in Hillsborough County which offer the unique IB learning experience through the Primary Years Programme (PYP).  The International Baccalaureate PYP is an approach to learning that has been implemented around the world.  Students are encouraged to develop their knowledge using inquiry-based strategies focused around central concepts.  This approach to curriculum makes learning connected and relevant. 

The philosophy of the Primary Years Programme is to cultivate the whole child - encouraging skillful students to not only be knowledgeable, but also to have positive attitudes and be people of action.  All of these traits develop an internationally-minded individual who is ready for success in today’s global society - Communicator, Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Risk-Taker, Balanced, Thinker, Caring, Open-Minded, Principled, and Reflective.
