FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2013) — Winn-Dixie, their customers and vendors helped local food banks fight hunger in their communities with Winn-Dixie’s Hunger Relief campaign. Recently, Winn-Dixie presented representatives from the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida with a check representing 19,283 pounds of food to feed more than 15,000 Southwest Florida families in need.

All dollars raised from Nov. 7 through Dec. 24 benefited regional Feeding America-affiliated food banks, including the Harry Chapin Food Bank, to provide nutritious, fresh foods for communities across Winn-Dixie’s operating area.
