Learn more about the comedic play from one of the actors.

Temple Terrace Patch Contributor Patti McDonald sat down with actor Ron Pandolfo of Masque Community Theatre’s performance of the off-Broadway production, “.” The two-man play runs on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through June 19.

Temple Terrace Patch: How long have you been involved in the ?

Ron Pandolfo: I’ve been involved with the theater for more than two years now. I’ve done a few different shows here, including “Leading Ladies” last fall, which Charlie Strange (the director of “Greater Tuna”) also directed.

Temple Terrace Patch: Why did you want to be a part of this production?

Pandolfo: I read the script a while ago, probably around when it came out. I thought it was really fun back then, and I thought if I ever had a chance to audition for the productions or for any other two-man show like this, I would.

Temple Terrace Patch: What makes “Greater Tuna” so funny?

Pandolfo: The residents of Tuna are just hilarious. It’s so stereotypical of small-town life, and it’s funny just to see how ignorant people are. A perfect example is Vera Carp, the local town snob, who is trying to get all of the Spanish-speaking people out of Tuna. These characters’ personalities are hilarious, and I think the audience will enjoy them.

Temple Terrace Patch: What’s one of the things you’ve liked the most about working on this show?

Pandolfo: I think I’ve enjoyed it a lot because this is one of our first shows at our new location. I’ve been wanting to perform in a smaller theater like this for awhile, and I am glad I’m finally getting to do it. The environment is quite different from the previous location, but I like it.

Temple Terrace Patch: Why should the community come out and see “Greater Tuna”?

Pandolfo: Because it’s hilarious! You can’t beat the price it costs to see a live show. For $14 you can get really entertained. If you don’t come see it you’re missing out on something because this show is really funny. For two hours, you can really laugh and enjoy yourself for a good price.
