An Interview With Victoria Beaudoin Of 'Cinderella'

Learn more about the musical from one of the actors.

Temple Terrace Patch Contributor Patti McDonald sat down with Victoria Beaudoin, who is one of the actresses playing Cinderella in ’s performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “.” The three-act musical runs on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. through Aug. 14.

Temple Terrace Patch: Why did you decide to be involved with the "Cinderella" production?

Beaudoin: I didn’t know much about the Masque Theatre until Mike (my prince in the production) told me about it. I heard so many great things about the theatre, so I decided to come out and audition.

Temple Terrace Patch: What is your favorite song in the production and why?

Beaudoin: I would definitely have to say my favorite song is “Ten Minutes Ago.” It is the opening song between Cinderella and the Prince. My favorite lyrics in the song are “in the arms of my love I’m flying over mountain and meadow and glenn, and I like it so well that I may never come down again.” The lyrics are basically saying that they never want to leave this moment, and I think it is just so romantic.

Temple Terrace Patch: Obviously the story of "Cinderella" is a classic. What do you like most about the story?

Beaudoin: My favorite thing about the story is just the fact that the prince absolutely loves Cinderella no matter if she is a princess or not. It does not matter to him who she is. He just loves her for the beauty of who she is inside.

Temple Terrace Patch: Who is your favorite character in the story and why?

Beaudoin: Cinderella is definitely my favorite character in the production, not just because I am playing her, but because she is so pure-hearted and such a good person. She puts up with all of her stepsisters and finally gets something she deserves, which is the prince loving her for who she is.
