Video Released of Robbery That Had USF on Alert

Police say three people robbed a gas station at gunpoint Tuesday morning.

The Tampa Police Department is looking for help identifying three people it says robbed a Marathon gas station at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.

According to the agency, two men and a woman entered the 5035 Fowler Ave. E. store around 6:45 a.m. One of the men and the woman were armed with semi-automatic handguns, the agency noted in an email. The armed man demanded cash from the drawer while holding the clerk at gunpoint. The other man helped himself to cigarettes from behind the counter.

As the robbery was under way, the woman, police said, held the door open.

All three fled the store on foot after the robbery.

The incident promoted the University of South Florida Police Department to issue an alert to the Tampa campus Tuesday morning.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects in the video is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips are also accepted online at www.crimestopperstb.com. A reward up to $3,000 is being offered for the capture of the three.
