Community Garden Needs Volunteers
Please help the community garden receive a donation of $2,000 worth of tools.

A little more than a year ago, I helped form a group to set up a community garden in Temple Terrace. We obtained our first gardening space behind Riverhills Elementary School.
Shortly thereafter, the City of Temple Terrace offered us a space large enough for individual plots in Riverhills Park. A few months later, we expanded our effort to include a community garden at Greco Middle School. The first two gardens are now a reality, and the Greco garden is in the design phase.
We’ve been very fortunate to receive invaluable support from numerous civic organizations and local businesses. They’ve given us donations, and they’ve cut us some outstanding deals that allowed us to proceed with constructing and planting our gardens.

There’s a new opportunity to help the Temple Terrace Community Gardens by donating one hour of your time to evaluate hose reels. That’s right. Anyone who has ever used a hose reel or a hose hanger could help the Temple Terrace Community Gardens earn a $2,000 garden tool donation from Ames True Temper. This company has some lines of garden tools that are still made in the U.S.A!
This is strictly a consumer study, and it’s not a sales pitch. You would just come to Riverhills Park on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 3 to try out some hose reels and provide consumer feedback. For anyone interested in helping out for one hour, just sign up for one of the time slots listed here:

Thank you for your continued support of the community garden. If we’re fortunate enough to fill all the time slots, there are many other ways in which you can support the gardens. Please visit us at our webpage or at our Facebook page.
