Marco Rubio Visits Temple Terrace
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio stopped by Florida College Academy in Temple Terrace Tuesday morning to talk about school choice.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) visited Temple Terrace on Tuesday. The senator came to Florida College Academy to talk about his education agenda and to “highlight the importance of giving parents the option to choose the schools that best fit the needs of their children, regardless of whether the school is public, private or a charter school,” according to his itinerary.

President Lynn Wade spoke to Rubio about the importance of Florida’s “Step Up
For Students” program, which provides tax credit scholarships to students in
K-12 who come from low-income families.
Wade said the program has been a real blessing for Florida College Academy,
where 25-percent of the students receive financial help in order to attend the
private school. During his brief visit, Rubio also toured the academy and met
with several teachers.
