Smile!

Come on honey, smile.  One, two, three-click. Say, CHEEEEESE.

What does it take to get your child to smile?  Yes, REALLY smile.  You know the kind of smile I’m talking about.  The one that is priceless….the one that reminds you again how adorable your child really is.

When my son was an infant a camera could not possibly be in the same room without him locating it, posing for it and then give the most adorable smile you have ever seen.

WHAT HAPPENED???

For the past year, every time he sees a camera he disappears (and is probably sitting in a closet corner somewhere hoping the camera will miraculously fall to the floor busting into a million pieces).  It’s as if you are asking him to commit the worst crime ever by requesting that he stand still and a flash a pearly white.  So what do I get when I do finally get him to take a picture….yes, that fake smile done with such force that the eyes close, the nose wrinkles and the head tilts (with obvious attitude).  Cute huh?  Sheeeesh.

The more I ask for “another” photo or for him to “try one more time” the worse it gets.  I suppose it’s a stage and that this too shall pass.  Until then, I will continue my torturous attempts of goofy sayings to try to capture the moment.
