Stand Still!

Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle! 

No, I’m not talking about being sexy and knowing it….I’m talking about the inability to stand still.

People say, “Boys will be boys.”  Or, “They just have so much energy and they can’t contain it.”  And let’s not forget,“That’s just how kids are.”

At what age does a child learn to stand still?  I mean honestly STAND STILL?  My son is constantly all over the place.  I don’t mean outside on the playground.  I mean ANYWHERE.  Eating dinner…wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.  Sitting in the car….shift, shift, shift (no he’s not shifting the gears) he’s shifting in his seatbelt.  Watching TV, legs moving constantly (like an indoor earthquake).  Sitting or standing next to him you would swear the child is doing a constant “I’ve gotta pee” dance.  (Don’t worry, I don’t think this dance move will make it big.  No need to practice.)

I do know that kids can, and will, learn to be still but how much longer before it happens to my son.  Please let me know so I can put the date on my calendar.
