Tipping Etiquette at Salons, Spas

Ever wonder how much to tip at the salon or spa? Well, with a little help from Emily Post we are able to share with you proper tipping.

At the hair salon it’s customary to tip 15-20 percent and you can ask that it be split between all that serviced you.

If you’re at the spa having your nails done, skin care or massage, the same 15-20 percent rule applies.

Holiday gifting is appropriate, and the rule of thumb is any amount up to the amount of your regular service or a gift. If your budget does not allow and you tip for your service throughout the year, a thoughtful note of appreciation is acceptable.
