Trees Go Better With Coke
Coca-Cola employees volunteered Wednesday to help plant trees as part of the city's Adopt-A-Tree program.
Coca-Cola employees got their hands dirty Wednesday, planting more than 20 trees around Temple Terrace, including their facility on Fowler Avenue. They were volunteers for the city’s monthly Adopt-A-Tree program, which provides free trees to homes and other locations in the community.
Homeowners can choose from live oak, longleaf pine, magnolia or bald cypress
trees for their yard. The trees are free, and the city delivers and plants
them, with help from volunteer shovel sponsors. In recent months, TECO, the Temple Terrace Rotary Club, Davey Tree and other organizations and businesses have volunteered as shovel sponsors to help plant the trees.
Volunteer groups and organizations are needed for future plantings. To sign up,
contact Code Compliance Director Joe Gross at (813) 506-6680. And, thank you,
Coca-Cola!
