ABOUT THE CONCERT:    Paul Diaz Cobo is a tenor with a glorious voice.  

Parker Wilkson is a 15 year old piano prodigy.     This is Paul's 3rd appearance at the Dome.  The Concert Committee is pleased to welcome him back and doubly pleased that young pianist Parker Wilkson will be accompanying him.    Plus Parker will also perform four solo piano pieces interspersed throughout the concert.

ABOUT PAUL:     Paul Diaz Cobo , who now lives in Brandon,  was born in Newark, NJ, and is a descendant of Cuba and the Canary Islands.    Paul made his operatic debut at the age of 25 as Alfredo in Staus’ Die Fledermaus with the Jersey Lyric Opera.  Shortly thereafter, he appeared at the Manhattan Theatre in New York as Tamino in Die Zauberflote, Don  
Octtavio in Don Giovanni and Don Jose in Carmen.

He has performed at the Guiseppi Verdi Conservatory, in Milan, Italy, and with the Greater Miami Opera.  Over the years roles have  included  Rodolfo in La Boheme,  Edgardo in Lucia Di Lammermoor, Count Rosillion in the Merry Widow, Hoffmann in The Tales of Hoffmann, Faust, Alfredo in La Traviata, and Canio in I Pagliacci.

 
 Paul is proud to have studied with the late great basso, Raymond Buckingham,  a favorite of conductor Leopold Stokowski.

ABOUT PARKER:   Parker Wilkson, age 15,  lives in Land O’ Lakes.   Parker 

was considered a piano prodigy by age 13.  Although he is a classically trained pianist,  he is also very comfortable performing  diverse musical styles (classical, rock, jazz)..    He's a music student at the Patel Conservatory (Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa) where he performs with Patel’s  jazz quartet .  He is one of the two winners of the recent 2013 Patel Spotlight Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music.

   He attends Sunlake High School in Land O’ Lakes where he not only takes his academic  studies seriously but also finds time for extra-curricular activities such as  playing the piano for the school’s theatrical musical productions of Grease and Westside Story. 

  In addition to playing the piano for  high school productions,  he  has performed   on piano and keyboard in various professional theatrical musical productions such as Gorey Stories, Nunsense, Showstoppers, Little Shop of Horrors, and Normal the Musical.  
   
Parker not only writes and composes original music, he is also the lead

singer, guitarist, and pianist in his indie rock band The Infinite Eights.    
He and  bandmates opened for the Florida Orchestra's “Symphony Under the Stars”  concert last year  before a very large crowd at  Raymond James Stadium.
