Missing Teen Found

The girl was reported missing early Tuesday morning.

Update Oct. 20, 11:55 a.m.: The sheriff’s office reports that Keisha Coote has been located at an area hospital. Further details are not available.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies, K-9s and dive team members are searching for a missing 13-year-old girl.

According to the agency, Keisha Coote left her home on Puritan Circle around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 and hasn’t returned.

“Coote is on medication that she has not been taking,” the agency wrote in an email to media.

Deputies were searching the area near 56th Street and the Hillsborough River where K-9s tracked the girl, the email noted.

“As a precaution, (the) Hillsborough County dive team has been called out and will search the area where the K-9 tracked to,” the email said.

Keisha attends Ferrell Middle School. She is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 187 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white hoodie and black pants. Keisha has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the teen’s whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200.
