2 Dead in Deputy Involved Shooting on Smoken Gun Lane
A body has been found inside a home and a suspect has been shot and killed.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting in the Thonotosassa area involving deputies.
According to the agency, the incident took place at 11000 Smoken Gun Lane.
“The deputy is uninjured and one suspect has been shot,” an email from the agency stated.

The agency announced on Twitter that the suspect has died and that another body was found inside the home. The second deceased person appears to be a homicide victim, the agency stated.
The deputies involved in the shooting are Mark Barnwell, a 29-year veteran, and Irazema Roquemore, a 15-year veteran. It is unclear if only one or both fired at the suspect, who has yet to be identified.
