The Florida College Life Enrichment series will present a lecture by Brigadier General Scott Hartsell on Afghanistan: Where We Have Been and Where We Are Going.
BGen Hartsell plans to discuss how the Afghans history, culture, society, and religion have all affected the past, present, and will continue to do so in the future. He also hopes to clarify why the U.S. went there 10 years ago, why the troops have stayed, and what the mission and strategy has been and is. Finally, Hartsell will shed some light on the potential way ahead for Afghanistan and how Regional Security issues and influences may affect the future.
BGen Hartsell is a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command & Staff College, Naval War College Strategy and Policy Course and Joint Military Officer Course, National Defense University Reserve National Security Course, NATO Joint Warfare Course, JFCOM Joint Forces Reserve Officer Course, and Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute.
