Former Mayor's Daughter Killed in Crash
Tampa police are searching for the driver they say may have caused the crash that killed Elizabeth Barford, 41.

Tampa Police are looking for help to identify the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck that may have caused a fatal crash March 24 that killed former Temple Terrace Mayor Fran Barford's daughter.
The accieent also left three others injured.
Elizabeth Barford, 41, of Tampa was killed Sunday night when her Volkswagen Passat was struck by a Jeep driven by Gabriella Padilla, 24, of Tampa.

Police say that Padilla was driving west at West Waters Avenue and North Ola Avenue, when she swerved to avoid a truck that was driving erratically and had cut her off.
Padilla's car crossed the center line and struck Barford's car. Police say Barford died at the scene.
A passenger in Barford's car, 32-year-old Joe Ripley, suffered serious injuries, while two passengers in Padilla's car had minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup did not stop and was last seen traveling west from the scene of the crash, according to police. The pickup is described as a 2003-07 Ford F150, extended cab, with dark rims and a silver 12-inch center hub cap.

Fran Barford was the first woman to serve as mayor of Temple Terrace. An annual award named in her honor is given out by the Temple Terrace Woman's Club to recognize those who go above and beyond in public service.
