Free ‘Family Fun Day’ Lets Residents Try Out Rec Center
No membership? No problem on July 16.

The offers just about every health and athletic program you could ever want, all under one roof.
From swimming to dancing, tennis to basketball, the center is a haven for those who want to stay active.
And on July 16, you don’t have to be a member to experience everything the Rec Center offers.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Temple Terrace Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Family Fun Day, a free event that will give everyone in the community the opportunity to experience the complex’s amenities.
It’s part of the department’s “” activities in July.

“It’s also a great way to learn about all the programs, sports and classes offered by the Temple Terrace Parks and Recreation Division,” said Mike Dunn, public information officer for the City of Temple Terrace. “We’re always adding new activities.”
Special programs during the event include:
- Games and Contests, including a sandcastle contest
- Door prizes
- Obstacle course
- Swimming and other water activities
- Basketball, gymnastics, tennis, volleyball and more
- Pool safety information
- $3 hamburger and hot dog lunches, courtesy of the Restoring Hope outreach program
