Homicide at Hotel Under Investigation

The Tampa Police Department is investigating a homicide at the Quality Inn near Busch Gardens.

According to the department, a call came into 911 around 2 a.m. Tuesday about a man found lying in a pool of blood in the back of the 4139 E. Busch Blvd. hotel’s parking lot. When units arrived, they found a deceased male with upper body trauma, the department stated.

The man is a contractor who is not from the Bay area, an email from the department stated. Authorities have not yet released his identity.

Police have identified a possible suspect and say the incident appears to be isolated. It is believed the suspect and victim may have been acquainted.
