Immokalee Man Killed In Head-On Collision

WIMAUMA, FL -- A 30-year-old Immokalee man was killed following a crash at U.S. 301 and Lightfoot Road Thursday at 6 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gerardo Ysias was traveling north on U.S. 301 in his 2012 Nissan Altima just south of Lightfoot Road in Wimauma when he crossed the center line and collided head on with a dump truck driven by Ariel Valera-Ramirez, 28, of Tampa.

Ysias was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he died of his injuries. Valera-Ramirez sustained minor injuries.
