Man Charged in Teen's Shooting Death
The 14-year-old boy was shot Saturday evening and later died from his injuries.
TAMPA, FL – A 19-year-old man faces manslaughter charges following the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy Saturday.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Jose Antonio Cruz Jr. was brought into custody shortly after the shooting at 4611 E. Whiteway Drive. The agency received a call about shots fired around 5:30 p.m. and found the teenager, identified as Stephenn Santiago-Grey, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Santiago-Grey was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he later died.
Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting, an email from the agency said.

Cruz has been charged with manslaughter with a firearm and was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail. Cruz was being held in lieu of $15,000 bond Sunday afternoon.
